MICHIO is a beat producer and lyricist based in Kumamoto, JPN. We met through a mutual friend at a coffee shop in Echo Park. Back in Japan, MICHIO was working on a project and asked me to help with album artwork. In an exchange over email, MICHIO sent me a photo of a forest shrine describing the stillness he felt walking through it. Wanting to maintain the visual nature of the blurry photo, the image was abstracted into concentric rings to convey a mood of tranquility and contemplation. MESO is a contracted form of meisou (瞑想), meaning ‘to meditate’, omitting the letters I and U.

短くて長い間彷徨ってきた。
ここには"I"も"U"もない。ただの音楽。

Everything is long and short.
There aren't "I" & "U". It's Just Music.
